Are you a passionate and creative Drama educator looking to inspire the next generation of performers? The School of Modern Skills (SMS) is seeking an experienced and dynamic Drama Teacher to join our Performing Arts team for the upcoming academic year.
About the Role: As a Drama Teacher at SMS, you will deliver engaging and curriculum-aligned instruction based on the American curriculum. You will play a key role in building students’ confidence, creativity, and collaboration through both practical and theoretical aspects of drama. From classroom instruction to school-wide productions, you will help bring learning to life through the performing arts.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-impact drama lessons that engage students across all levels
- Use improvisation, script work, and performance techniques to develop student skills
- Organize and direct school productions, assemblies, and drama showcases
- Collaborate across departments for cross-curricular events and creative projects
- Regularly assess and report student progress aligned with curriculum outcomes
- Create a safe, inclusive, and inspiring drama environment with proper use of props, AV, and staging
- Support Students of Determination through inclusive planning and collaboration with the Inclusion team
- Engage in school life, duties, and continuous professional development
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support student growth and performance
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Drama, Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, or related field (required)
- Master’s degree in Performing Arts, Education, or Educational Leadership (preferred)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of drama or performing arts teaching experience
- Strong track record in directing school productions and integrating drama into whole-school initiatives
- Experience working in an American curriculum school is desirable
