Established in 2006, the School of Modern Skills blends UAE heritage with global education. Offering a rigorous American curriculum from KG to Grade 12, SMS features separate boys’ and girls’ campuses, top-tier labs, innovation hubs, and excellent sports facilities. Our Program
and Curriculum

The School of Modern Skills (SMS), accredited by NEASC, delivers a top-tier American curriculum. As a NEASC member, we uphold global best practices, offering students worldwide connections and teachers cutting-edge professional development.

Kindergarten (KG1–KG2): Early Years Development Program (EYDP)

  • Balanced Learning Approach: Combines structured learning with play-based exploration to nurture curiosity and imagination.

  • Developmental Focus: Designed to foster cognitive, social, emotional, and language development in a safe, stimulating setting.

  • Creative Curriculum: Based on the California Common Core State Standards (CCSS), emphasizing hands-on, inquiry-based learning.

  • ENGAGE Extended Day Program: Offers extended hours of engaging, educational, and recreational activities to support working families and enrich student experiences.

  • Bilingual Environment: English immersion supported with Arabic integration to strengthen early language skills.

Elementary School (Grades 1–5)

  • Core Subjects: English Language Arts, Mathematics (CCSS), Science (NGSS), Arabic Language, Islamic Education, and UAE Social Studies.

  • STrEaM Integration: Combines Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics into thematic, project-based learning.

  • Fifth Grade Academy:
      • A signature transitional program bridging elementary and middle school.
      • Emphasizes increased academic rigor, social-emotional development, and readiness skills.
      • Offers extracurricular opportunities and community engagement to support holistic growth.

  • ASAP Academic Support: Available for students needing extra help or wishing to advance academically.

Middle School (Grades 6–8)

  • Cognitive Development Focus: Recognizes grades 6–8 as a critical period for brain development, similar in impact to early childhood.

     

  • Core Curriculum: Builds on academic foundations while promoting real-world problem solving through interdisciplinary projects.
